Artist-in-Residence: How it works

The Artist-in-Residence of Ignition Scheme 1.0 (2016-2019) and Ignition Scheme 2.0 (2020-2021) provided in-depth training, with tailor-made syllabi to 2 cohorts of 40-50 students from four special schools. Led by professional artists, the programme successfully built up a model of arts and character education.  Students were able to learn technical skills in different art forms, cultivate their interest in art and build up a positive attitude towards life. It also promoted parental engagement and connection with the society through the arts.

The Ignition Scheme 3.0 recruits a pool of 32- 40 new students and provides basic training as well as continues nurturing 15 alumni for their career development in arts and performance.
